At BMC, the experienced Mechanic repairs trucks & forklifts. This individual possesses skill and ability dismantle engines and make appropriate repairs. This knowledgeable individual helps uphold the BMC core values by maintaining safety and high efficiency.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain working area and all equipment in clean, safe, working order.
2. Must know how to operate all equipment utilized in assigned location of group of locations.
3. Follow all instructions and guidelines as outlined by direct supervisor.
4. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and extensive repairs as directed by direct supervisor.
5. Make extensive equipment repairs according to manufactures specifications.
6. All repairs to be made in compliance with established Safety, DOT and other compliance monitoring agency’s procedures.
7. Maintain and complete all equipment records in neat and orderly fashion.
8. Assist in building maintenance projects as needed, i.e. build racks, repair racking, run wire in all areas, do plumbing, carpentry, or run errands.
9. Monitor, maintain, and update warehouse equipment parts inventory as needed.
10. Train associates in warehouse equipment repair.
11. Assist in cleaning shop when needed.
    1. Maintain tools and equipment in the safest manner possible, pre-trip equipment daily.
    2. Assist in other areas as assigned by location management.

Required Skills

1. Minimum Education: High school or GED, additional training courses in related field demonstrating extensive level of knowledge and skill.
2. Extensive knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, welding, general maintenance, and other areas as required.
3. Ability to perform physical labors and heavy lifting.
4. Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift and rolling truck stock.

Required Experience

1. Minimum Experience: 3 years or more in vehicle, warehouse and maintenance background.

1. Minimum Education: High school or GED, additional training courses in related field demonstrating extensive level of knowledge and skill.
2. Extensive knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, welding, general maintenance, and other areas as required.
3. Ability to perform physical labors and heavy lifting.
4. Ability to operate pallet jack and forklift and rolling truck stock.
