  • Responsibilities

    MISSION / SUMMARY:

    The E&I Planner plans and schedules work for maintenance technicians and providing reliability engineering for assigned work area. Field supervision, inspection of field work, and office administrative duties will be required in support of the functional area of assignment.  Incumbents are expected to exercise initiative and independence in implementing departmental policies, developing effective work processes and solving operational problems.

    Required Skills

    JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

    • Determines workloads and schedules for hourly personnel.
    • Develops preventive maintenance plans for assigned work area.
    • Manages and schedules all motor rebuilds.
    • Develops and maintains bill of materials and spare parts for assigned work area.
    • Scopes out and develops work for hourly personnel.
    • Procures parts for required work.
    • Provides reliability engineering for assigned work area.
    • Develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures; and ensures that staff is trained in complex maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures.
    • Monitors and participates in operations in assigned areas including inspecting projects, developing and implementing modifications and improvements.
    • Answers questions and provides information related to projects including resolving problems and providing technical expertise in area of assignment.
    • Maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the management team to effectively meet departmental objectives.
    • Provides input into the development of the operating budget for the assigned area of responsibility; orders materials and supplies; assists in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures.
    • Ensures that proper safety practices are followed.
    • Responds to emergencies as requested; coordinates activities with others; directs the work and utilization of resources to effect repair.
    • Prepares records related to the work performed and materials and supplies used.
    • Assists RCFA process to identify root cause and determine corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    SPECIFIC SKILLS:

    •  Strong communication skills, leadership skills-relationship building, and group facilitation skill.
    •  Business presence, ability to work through others, technical presence, extensive circle of influence, computer skills, and strong project management.
    • Influence and group facilitation skills preferred.

    Required Experience

    BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience in reliability engineering, planning and root cause and failure analyses. 
    •  5 years of electrical engineering experience preferred. Will consider a degreed electrical engineer with 1-2 years experience with demonstrated RCM, planning and scheduling best practices.

     

     

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant work experience, preferably Pulp and Paper related.
    • Must understand RCM, planning and scheduling best practices.
