POSITION SUMMARY:

The Water Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining safe chemical levels and water clarity at Splash Island Water Park, Valdosta, GA, as well as at the water attractions at Wild Adventures, Valdosta, GA. Working outdoors and following safety policies, procedures, and guidelines are required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a healthy and safe water environment for Guests and Team Members
• Monitor, log, and adjust chemical levels in all pools and water attractions
• Maintain correct flow to pools and water attractions by monitoring and cleaning strainer baskets
• Communicate chemical irregularities
• Adjust and make minor repairs to pumps and filters as needed and as coached by Maintenance Technician
• Assist in the cleaning of all surge and holding tanks during closed season
• Understand and operate necessary controls
• Assist Maintenance Team with pool / attraction maintenance
• Assist Water Quality Team Lead with daily, monthly, and yearly maintenance as necessary
• Must be willing to work outside of his or her zone of assignment to fulfill general park needs on occasion
• Ensure compliance with all Herschend Family Entertainment and Wild Adventures policies and procedures
• Represents the company to guests and other team members in a positive and friendly manner
• Satisfies Wild Adventures' standards for performance and conduct. For example, reports to work regularly and on time
• "Create Memories Worth Repeating" for our Guests by exceeding guest expectations
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Position requires outdoor work in all weather conditions and in presence of dust and odors. Team Members are susceptible to the exposure of various chemicals, bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens and prolonged exposure to sunlight

Required Experience

EXPERIENCE: No prior experience necessary

EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED Required

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic Computer Skills Required

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in AFO and / or CPO Programs within three months preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain Ellis & Associates Lifeguard License within three months preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Must be available to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed
• Must have reliable transportation
