    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for the consistent and high-quality delivery of banquet, catering and meeting events held within the resort.  The supervisor will provide direct oversight for such events including staff execution according to Banquet Event Orders and department Standard Operating Procedures.  The supervisor will also act as the customer’s primary contact during the event ensuring complete guest satisfaction.  The supervisor will work closely with other resort teams including group sales, culinary and other food and beverage leadership.  In addition, the supervisor will assist with hiring, on-boarding, training scheduling and coaching Hosts and for creating a positive work environment for the Hosts leading to high levels of satisfaction.  The supervisor is also responsible for all facets of safety for the Banquet Department.  This is to be done in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company. 

     

    SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Must be well organized and efficient. Performs planning and organizing of functions for the banquet department, including maintaining the banquet logbook, temperature log books, consumption sheets and maintaining and updating banquet event function sheets.
    • Acts as department Safety Trainer.
    • Coordinates function details with banquet, conference planning, and kitchen staff.
    • Conducts Pre-Shift meetings with banquet service hosts before each event.
    • Facilitates and/or attends all meetings as required.
    • Checks banquet rooms, pre-function areas, service, and kitchen areas for cleanliness, condition, proper set up, and sufficient supplies and equipment.
    • Coordinates food pickup in the kitchen and have all functions ready and hosts in position 30 minutes prior to every function/event.
    • Inspects food products to ensure quality and quantity guidelines are followed.
    • Monitors functions to ensure steps of service are followed
    • Supervises meeting events and the food and beverage services of banquet/catering functions, including set-up, service, and breakdown.
    • Ensures all BEO checks are correctly priced, signed by the client according to planned arrangements and closed to the correct folio.
    • Ensures accurate daily sales reconciliation and time and attendance records are completed and provided to the Sr. Outlets Manager, Outlets Manager or Director of Food and Beverage.
    • Business levels and demand requires flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, day and evening shifts and occasional extended days.
    • Open Communication with management and Hosts that may include evaluations of Hosts and complete training of service Hosts.
    • Assists Food and Beverage leadership in entering HotSos maintenance repair tickets and or cleaning schedules for all banquet equipment and facilities.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Must be at least 18 years old.
    • High school diploma or equivalent, Required.
    • One (1) year of foods/banquet service experience required.
    • Supervisory experience preferred.
    • Must be able to obtain Serve Safe certification within first 30 days.
    • Tennessee Alcohol Board Commission (TABC) Certification required.
    • Basic computer skills required.
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
