    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

In January 2008, BRC launched its third new low-threshold transitional housing program, the Lex Safe Haven. Funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services, the Lex Safe Haven is aimed at moving long-term homeless people from church steps and other public spaces throughout the city. Currently, this congregate housing facility provides housing for up to 43 couples and single men and women. Similar to other low-demand BRC facilities, case managers at the Lex Safe Haven are focused on moving chronically street homeless individuals into permanent housing. Program participants are not required to maintain sobriety and do not have any curfew; the one requirement upon entering is that they actively work toward obtaining housing.

    BENEFITS

BRC takes the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees seriously. Employees are eligible for health insurance and paid sick time benefits immediately upon starting work. In addition, full time employees receive a generous benefits package, including:

    1. Competitive health and dental plans, with coverage is available for your spouse, domestic partner, and dependents.
    2. A minimum of 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, and additional paid sick and personal time. A 403(b) pension plan with a matching benefit paid by BRC.
    3. Tuition assistance and many training opportunities for career development.
    4. Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) are available so employees can set aside pre-tax dollars for healthcare, transit and childcare.
