  • Responsibilities

    The Director of Performance Management provides senior-level leadership for BRC’s agency-wide performance management activities. For 20 years, BRC has maintained a comprehensive performance management initiative at our programs that allows us to develop agency-wide and individual program goals, systematically measure our progress, analyze our findings, and adjust our programs accordingly. The agency is currently expanding performance management activities to include administration and operational functions to guide organizational decision making and resource allocation. The Director of Performance Management will lead the performance management team in designing and implementing administrative performance management activities while maintaining the excellence and rigor of BRC’s existing program evaluation efforts. The position is part of BRC’s senior management team and reports to the Vice President for Program Development & Evaluation.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide senior-level management for the agency’s programmatic and administrative performance management and evaluation efforts, including aligning efforts across the two initiatives.
    • Provide supportive and growth-focused management for two full-time staff currently responsible for coordinating performance mangement.
    • Embrace and embody the mission, core values and goals of BRC, including supporting agency efforts to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion.

     

    Responsibilities for programmatic performance management:

    • Provide senior-level leadership for the agency’s existing programmatic performance management system.
    • Analyze and report on agency-wide metrics that enable the executive leadership and Board members to understand BRC’s programmatic performance, identify emerging trends, and make strategic decisions regarding program development and resource allocation.
    • Learn existing system for evaluating outcomes and managing performance at the agency’s 30+ programs and identify opportunities for enhancement.
    • Provide program directors coaching and guidance in working with, understanding and valuing data as a tool for performance management, including hands-on support to facilitate clear and accurate communication and reporting of program performance data.
    • Expand and improve efforts to coordinate the collection and reporting of program performance data for funding agencies.

     

    Responsibilities for administrative performance management:

    • Lead efforts to develop and implement the agency’s new administrative performance management activities.
    • Learn BRC current operating systems and available data across administrative departments such as human resources, finance, fundraising, communications, facilities and fleet management.
    • Develop a data management system that aggregates data across administrative departments, including refining KPIs, creating internal dashboards, and designing protocols for monthly reporting and data sharing.
    • Provide consistent training and support to administrative staff to improve efficiency and effectiveness of data collection, enhance understanding of monthly reporting requirements and protocols, and identify new KPIs based on changing data availability and needs.
    • Create regular reporting for executive leadership that synthesizes key learnings to guide organizational decision making and resource allocation.
    • Provide ongoing leadership in implementing, maintaining, and improving the data management system to optimize performance.


    SKILLS:

    • Superior computer literacy skills (e.g., Microsoft Suite, Outlook) and the ability to learn new computer applications with ease. Knowledge of EHR, financial and human resources databases a plus.
    • Experience in database management, including in designing, developing, and producing reports from a database application.
    • Exceptional project management skills.
    • Strong mathematical and verbal analytical skills, including ability to explain data findings and connect real-time trends to impact on operations and outcomes.
    • Effective interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders with diverse points of view, and to communicate technical issues to non-technical audiences.
    • Strong leadership management skills, including vision setting and team building.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail, accuracy and pacing.
    • Ability to proactively work independently and apply critical thinking.

     

    HOURS:

    Full-time 37.5 hours per week

    • Monday to Friday, 9:00AM- 5:30PM
    • Hybrid work schedule

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s degree in data analytics, public policy, public health, public or business administration, or other related field.
    • Minimum of three years of experience in data analytics, program evaluation or performance management for large social service organizations.
    • Proven track record and demonstrated experience in using data to analyze complex problems and systems in human services, behavioral health or related fields essential.
    • Strong commitment to improving equity and inclusion in all facets of work.
