POSITION TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: Operations
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Vice President
SUPERVISES: Front line staff / Branch location
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the credit union officers in the overall operations of the credit union. As Operations Manager, you are responsible for the administration and supervision of branch activities within established policies and guidelines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1) Assist in directing all Credit Union operations, which include planning, recommending and implementing programs and policies and providing general administrative direction.
2) Manage the day-to-day operations of the Credit Union and establish office procedures to use staff and facilities most efficiently and to provide consistent and excellent service to members.
3) Analyze various membership statistics, trends (internal and external) and technology usage in all areas of operation and make recommendations for the efficient operation and growth of the Credit Union.
4) Ensure that adequate equipment, supplies and working space are available to carry out Credit Union operations.
5) Ensure that the President and Vice President are informed on the conditions and operations of the Credit Union.
6) Monitor branch activity, including but not limited to: transaction volume, teller errors, loan volume, new account openings and product sales.
7) Provide support, input, feedback and guidance to branch managers concerning their daily operations.
8) Oversee hiring, promotions, transfers, terminations and other changes in the status of assigned employees.
9) Evaluate employee job performance and address issues related to balancing, absenteeism, customer service issues and other operational matters.
10) Hold periodic staff meetings to discuss areas needing improvement, changes in procedures, new developments or services and to present general information.
11) Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff.
12) Establish and conduct staff training programs to ensure staff are up to date on regulations and procedures.
13) Monitor and audit new memberships.
14) Have a strong working knowledge of Brewery Credit Union’s products and services and be able to advise members on which products and services would meet their needs.
15) Maintain a compliant Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) program.
16) Work with staff and area community partners to ensure Brewery Credit Union’s quality and professional reputation is projected and maintained in the community.
17) Work with management to provide items to the auditors and examiners for the review of financial accounts and records.
18) Assist members with inquiries, complaints and any other questions or concerns they may have as it relates to their accounts, debit or credit cards, overdrafts, transactions or any other account related items.
19) Make an impact on both employee’s and member’s lives by exhibiting strong leadership skills, compassion and a willingness to help.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
1) Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
2) Financial institution experience preferred.
3) Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
4) Bachelor’s degree in business, management or a related field.
5) Be able to perform responsibilities with composure under stress of deadlines, requirements for extreme accuracy and work in a fast-paced environment.
