    Job Description

    The Finish Technician installs interior components, applies coatings, and performs detailing to manufacture vessels to specifications.

    DUTIES

    • Assist in the construction and installation of interior joinery/cabinetry.
    • Install interior components such as seats/cushions, insulation, paneling, flooring, and windows.
    • Apply vessel coatings including interior/bottom paint, non-skid, clear coat, vinyl, etc.
    • Install vessel accessories or other components (e.g. labels, signage, etc.) as needed.
    • Perform final detailing/cleaning at vessel completion.
    • Use tape measures, levels and other inspection to verify conformance with design specifications, company quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Safely operate hand/power tools related to the job’s needs, including: drills, saws, sanders, sprayers, etc.
    • Demonstrate safe work practices. Comply with safety standards required by the company and regulatory bodies.
    • Obtain and maintain proper workplace training, including tool use sign-offs.
    • Complete work within specific deadlines set by the Finish Department Supervisor.
    • Participate in regular/required Finish Department meetings.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Relevant experience (e.g. carpentry and/or painting) in a manufacturing/shop/construction environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and instructions.
    • Basic math skills relevant to construction trades.
    • HS diploma or equivalent. Technical certificates and/or professional certifications (e.g. OSHA training) will be considered an asset.
    • Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the US.

    Additional Information

    Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in a metal manufacturing environment or outdoors in all types of weather. Noise level can vary from moderate to high. The use of PPE (e.g. respirator, hand/hearing/eye protection) is required. Continuous physical effort is required (standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs, grasping/reaching, lifting/moving items up to 50 pounds). The employee is regularly required to work from a ladder and/or scaffolding, and occasionally required to carry a load in these positions. COMPENSATION Base pay rate $14-18/hr, DOE.
