What the Position is About:

• Source and purchase a variety of construction materials from reliable suppliers, considering cost, quality and delivery timelines
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a steady supply chain
• Monitor and manage inventory levels, and implement inventory control measures to minimize shortages and excess stock
• Collaborate with project managers and warehouse teams to optimize inventory turnover
• Conduct regular inspections of incoming shipments to ensure compliance with specifications
• Analyze market trends, prices and innovations in the industry and identify opportunities for saving costs and improving processes

The Right Candidate Will Have:

• Purchasing experience within the building materials and construction industry
• Commodity experience is desired, but not required
• Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
