    ENGINEERING MANAGER

    PURPOSE:

    We are looking for an engineering manager to build, manage and direct the engineering team. You will be responsible for managing the development of Electric Vehicle Charging Station from the concept phase through to production. Establish processes and procedures within the engineering team.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Managing the engineering team, including overseeing daily operations, scheduling and project management
    • Attending meetings with customers and suppliers as the key representative of the engineering team, as required
    • Leading the team to solve complex problems through thoughtful leadership and robust analyses
    • Involved in design migration to production, and associated manufacturing cost reduction.
    • Directs department activities to design new products and modify existing designs.
    • Formalizing step by step process on product development
    • Setting realistic goals for the team, prioritizing issues, monitoring progress and ensuring goals are met
    • Maintain frequent formal and informal program management.
    • Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting quickly to new information and re-prioritizing
    • Collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer
    • Manage engineers working to design, build, and deploy all hardware
    • Work closely with the Operations and Supply Chain team
    • Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, MSEE Required
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in product development, manufacturing of electronics systems, product maneuverability, design migration to production, and associated manufacturing cost reduction.
    • Minimum 5 (+) years of experience leading an engineering team
    • Knowledge of Power Electronics
    • Knowledge of Hardware and Firmware
    • Working knowledge of typical quality programs, ISO 9001 or higher
    • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • The candidate must have strong hands on experience in:
    • Test methodologies and test software development.
    • Analog Digital, mixed-signal processing, control systems, sensors, Microprocessors, microcontrollers, DSP, and PLDs, FPGAs.
    • Schematic capture using tools like: OrCAD, Altium, PSpice, and Verilog, PCB design and testing
    • Good time management skills and demonstrated efficiency in providing engineering support on multiple concurrent projects
    • Ability to create and manage electrical specifications and test procedures
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Demonstrated people skills, both inside and outside the project team
    • Ability to motivate and develop professionals to achieve their highest proficiency
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and projects
    • Creative thinking with the ability to make decisions and execute effectively

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
