    POSITION SUMMARY 

    The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating graphics that tell the Community College of Aurora’s (“CCA”) story. This person is adept at designing various promotional materials — including ads for Google and social media campaigns, brochures, posters, and direct mail pieces — that inspire people to learn more about the college’s academic programs, support services, scholarship opportunities, and on-campus events. 

     

    The Graphic Designer is a highly motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple projects, producing high-quality work, meeting deadlines, providing superior customer service, and working collaboratively with faculty and staff across the college to increase applications and enrollment. This is a .75 FTE position with a full benefits package. 

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Serve as CCA’s primary graphic designer 
    • Design traditional and digital marketing and advertising materials, including brochures, posters, direct mail pieces, programs, newspaper ads, Google ads, social media ads, social media graphics, graphics for CCA’s on-campus TVs, website banners, and graphic animations  
    • Maintain brand consistency across all materials and brand channels 
    • Manage the college’s internal repository of logos, templates, images, and other related resources 
    • Produce press-ready documents and work with outside vendors 
    • Keep current with trends in graphic design 
    • Provide superior customer service to constituents, form partnerships with employees across functional areas, and work collaboratively with the Communications and Marketing team 
    • Participate in Communications and Marketing team meetings 
    • Increase job skills regularly through classes, professional development seminars, webinars, and meetings of professional organizations 
    • Incorporate the core principles of Inclusive Excellence in daily interactions and activities, and engage in CCA’s broader Inclusive Excellence efforts as appropriate 
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

     

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    • An extensive portfolio containing high-quality graphics that you have produced (a link to your portfolio must be included in your application) 
    • Demonstrated experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop 
    • Bachelor’s degree (can substitute high-level work experience on year-for-year basis) 
    • Substantial experience as a graphic designer 
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills 
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills 
    • Record of producing creative graphics 
    • Highly motivated/self-starter 
    • Deadline-driven

     

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Pre-press experience 
    • Photography skills 
    • An understanding of marketing and advertising strategies and how graphic design fits into those strategies 
    • Experience working with non-English media outlets 
    • Experience working with diverse populations 
    • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of the mission of two-year colleges 
    • Bilingual (Spanish)

     

     

    SALARY RANGE:  Anticipated salary is $32,738.00. The specific salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan. Leave and holiday benefits are also included.

    • Prepare, process and proofreading of engagement correspondence (engagement letters, memos, confirmations and other correspondence with clients)
    • Preparation of workpapers and financial statements, including scanning documents, organizing referencing, etc.
    • Provide advanced administrative services by entering date in software applications
    • Become familiar with the firm’s policies and procedures regarding accounting and assurance assignments
    • Provide assistance with scheduling and tracking assignments
    • Preparation of billing and time budgets for engagements
    • Provide general support (correspondence, manage calendars, schedule appointments, open mail, copying, faxing, scanning and etc.)
    • Manage special projects as assigned
    • Understand and anticipate needs and deliver high quality service and results
    • Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels
    • Review work for accuracy
