    Resource Coordinator (40 hours, non-exempt) Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development (BUILD, Inc.) is seeking a committed, self-motivated, enthusiastic professional to join the Education team in the role of Resource Coordinator (RC). The RC is responsible for managing the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program at Genevieve Melody Elementary School in collaboration with the school administration. The RC will identify, secure, and ensure the implementation of out-of-school time (OST) programs and resources offered in the school, as well as ensure that students and families have access to them. The RC will also coordinate OST activities that engage students, parents, and the community and will provide support to classroom teachers and out-of-school time staff in support of student achievement. Strategies will also be implemented to strengthen the relationship between the school, family, and community. The Resource Coordinator reports to the Director of Core Programs Responsibilities include: Program Implementation: Provides an environment applying trauma-informed methods to promote a quality program in a relaxed atmosphere in all component areas: visual & performing arts, digital media, restorative justice, community building, academic support, health and wellness, life skills, and parent engagement. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans, instructional materials that facilitate active learning, and field trips. Ensures property/inventory is maintained, and orders supplies. Manage youth behavior by establishing guidelines, expectations, mutual respect and mutual accountability. Assures planning and implementation of a variety of diverse, culturally sensitive and enjoyable daily activities which meet Illinois State Learning Standards and NAA and YPQA standards. Oversee the operations of the site providing a safe environment for OST programming where students, parents and the community are involved in academic, support and recreational activities in accordance with the 21st CCLC guidelines Ensures ongoing communication with parents, completing a monthly calendar of events, developing positive relationships with the parents, advocating for them, providing leadership and guidance techniques, assisting them in securing necessary resources, and encouraging them to participate in program activities, etc. Ensure the school has an advisory committee and meetings are held regularly among relevant stakeholders so that identified needs are being addressed Documentation and Compliance: Ensure recruitment efforts are implemented to meet full enrollment in the program. Ensure all individual and group efforts are documented and recorded in internal and external databases by set deadlines. Ensure the collection of all academic and supporting documentation on each youth participating in the program. Submit reporting documents on a monthly basis and/or as needed. Maintain file compliance according to requirements and deadlines set by the organization and collect and maintain all grant-required documents (such as teacher surveys, compliance binders, etc.) Responsible for the program complying with all internal and external requirements and performance standards, including promoting the health and safety of all children, following sanitation procedures and universal precautions, complying with the Confidentiality and Child Abuse and Neglect Acts as a mandated reporter, as well as the Americans with Disabilities Act and the BUILD Youth Services Staff manual policy and procedures. Reports all suspected cases of child abuse/neglect to the Manager of Education Services. Staff management and development: Meets biweekly with the Manager of Education Services for supervision and support, updating staff/program issues/concerns and providing recommendations to deal with these. Schedules staff vacations/personal days, ensuring child/staff ratio is maintained and vacation form is completed in a timely manner. Also ensures the completion of incident reports, accident reports, medication forms and logs Exemplifies the mission, vision and values of the agency. Maintains knowledge current in the field including, but not limited to, attendance at seminars, workshops, etc. Maintains knowledge current on agency's theories, methodologies and best practices. Follows agency handbook in accordance with confidentiality of youth records and staff compliance. Provides overall supervision and annual evaluations to the BUILD out-of-school time prevention staff, including interns and volunteers. Meets weekly with staff team, providing positive direction and assists teaching staff in developing realistic individual and group goals and in their activity planning. Attends departmental and agency-wide staff meetings, as scheduled and agency-wide events as required. Performs other job-related duties as requested, required and/or assigned. Other: Participate in agency-wide fundraising events. Maintains relationships with various partners including, but not limited to, schools, government agencies and community-based organizations. Completes maintenance request/repair forms and gives to designated BUILD staff for follow up. Assures proper care and maintenance of the program equipment and space, as well as building security, including ensuring that program spaces are clean and well maintained, and the building is properly secured on a daily basis. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Program Administration, Child Development, Social Work, Human Services, Art Education, or a related field preferred, but not required. 3 years' experience working with children and/or adults in a nonprofit social service or community development organization Operate professionally in the field on a flexible time schedule, which includes late evenings and weekends. Self-motivated leader with the ability to energize staff, interns and volunteers. Demonstrates good judgment and ability to work independently as a part of a team. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously effectively and efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential with the ability to integrate technology into daily program operations and evaluation systems required. Must work effectively with agency staff, board members, funders, donors and volunteer. Must possess solid understanding of data collection and compliance. Must maintain respectful and appropriate relationships with program participants, all level of agency staff and various publics of the agency, demonstrating sensitivity to all ethnic, racial and economic backgrounds and embracing the agency's mission, values and culture. Ability to understand and interpret the policies, procedures, and general organizational structure of the Chicago Public schools Must pass Chicago Public Schools, State, and Federal Background Checks. An automobile is preferred, but not required, with insurance and a valid driver's license. All employees must be able to provide proof of vaccination for COVID-19.
