THE JOB Interested in leaving the building trade industry and working with a professional design engineering firm? Our New England office is looking for a Contract Administrator to represent BVH Integrated Services, a Salas O’Brien company. As the primary contact between the firm, architect, owner and contractor during the construction phase of projects, the Contract Administrator will focus on field observations to verify the contractor is following the specifications and drawings. In particular, the Contract Administrator will:

    • Manage all aspects of multiple projects from bid/negotiation to completion and project closeout
    • At a project manager level, have first-hand installation experience in one of the various building trades (Mechanical, Temperature Controls, Electrical or Plumbing trades).
    • Review submittals and shop drawings, process Requests for Information, review Change Orders, and collect/approve Contract Close-out documentation.
    • Communicate with design team, owners, contractor, sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers.

    YOUR BACKGROUND To succeed in this role, you need to meet the following basic requirements:

    • Experience in the construction of building projects of all types, including interpretation of contract documents, drawings and specifications, and working knowledge of building codes.
    • 10+ years of experience in construction AND mechanical systems.
    • Working knowledge of MEP/FP systems.
    • Familiar with life safety and building codes.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Working knowledge with computers, computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Experience with construction management software
    • Working knowledge and understanding of building control systems a plus.
