  • Responsibilities

    The Director of Demand Planning & Scheduling will support operations by identifying continuous improvement opportunities in forecasting, planning and execution of the demand/supply plan.  This individual will work closely with functional groups including product management, quality, purchasing, sourcing, and manufacturing to help manage and support supply chain activities.  

    This person will analyze and select most accurate forecasting method for any given SKU and/or sales channel.  Revise forecasts and recommend changes on a weekly and monthly basis based on actual usage, trends, wins/losses, new product introduction, and revised sales plans.  Understand variations to the plan, provide recommendations and execute plans to maximize company ROI.  

    Proactively analyze forecast accuracy against usage and market intelligence, making and communicating adjustments and needed.  Research forecast questions, and provide solutions to issues as they arise.  Manage the inventory plan and provide inventory projections to management.  

    Prepare, report, and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management (forecast accuracy, inventory plan vs. targets)

    Advise Sales, Marketing and Business Units of problems and significant variances between existing forecasts and actual usage.  Be the main contact for the manufacturing group for day-to-day operations. 

    Maintain constant and proactive communication with Buyer/Planner counterparts which includes consistent notification of consensus meeting outputs and alerts of material forecast changes in a timely manner in order to minimize business risks. 

    Evaluate internal constraints and develops proposals and/or plans to maintain efficient flow of product.  Provide planning solutions for any product or material shortages

    Must plan and execute effective decision making to optimize service and minimize inventory risks.  Continuously improving forecasting techniques, method, and approach. 

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree prefer MBA but not required
    • 8+ years of demand planning and scheduling in manufacturing
    • Analytical and market intelligence to determine production optimization 
    • Past record of continuous improvements and cost reduction and risks
    • Must be able to prove authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
