Bachman’s was founded in 1885 and remains a family-owned business, with fifth-generation Bachman family members leading the company today. Bachman’s operates six full-service Floral, Gift & Garden Centers throughout the Twin Cities, a shop in the Galleria, a Hardscapes Center in Farmington, and 28 floral departments within Lunds & Byerlys grocery stores. Additionally, Bachman’s operates indoor and outdoor landscaping divisions, a weddings and special events department, a wholesale nursery division, seven acres of greenhouses, and a 670-acre growing range in Lakeville, Minn., which produces many of the plants, flowers, and landscaping products sold by Bachman’s today.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Lead and coordinate the benefits function.
- Coordinate the benefit program contact renewal and manage benefit administration.
- Communicate with vendors to problem solve issues.
- Review, proof for accuracy, and approve invoices for payment, or reconcile various benefit reports.
- Disburse payroll deductions to appropriate vendors.
- Lead the open enrollment process and conduct benefit enrollment sessions with employees.
- Work to ensure that employees feel valued via the service they receive and strive to help them understand the value of their benefits.
- Manage the retirement plan administration including investment meeting with plan consultant and the plan administrator.
- Complete bi-weekly reconciliation of 401(k) contribution, company match and loans.
- Manage annual audits of retirement plan.
- Responsible for timely audits on welfare, 401k, Section 125, as well as non-qualified plans.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA and other reporting and disclosure requirements
- Lead the wellness initiative and committee.
- Administer wellness budget and coordinate vendors as needed.
- Act as the in-house system expert for HRIS. Maintain the system for HR related data and tables. Recommend changes and fixes.
- Provide assistance to HRIS users including training, problem solving, and the retrieval of information and manipulation of the information for decision making.
- Design HRIS training material to support user needs.
- Generate EEO-1 report each year.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience coordinating health and welfare benefits and HRIS (UKG preferred).
- Working knowledge of applicable state and federal laws
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make recommendations on proposals (RFP’s).
- Ability to use HRIS reporting functionality and write queries and translate to useable information.
- Experience developing and delivering HRIS user training.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer service skills.
- Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
SCHEDULED HOURS:
- Monday- Friday 7:30—4:30 and on call as needed. Extra hours during Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and peak business needs.
