    Position Overview: We’re seeking talented and reliable Line Cooks and Prep Cooks to join our back-of-house team! The Line Cooks and Prep Cooks play a key role in preparing and executing menu items with consistency, accuracy, and care — ensuring every plate reflects the high standards Big Bad Breakfast is known for.

    Line Cook Key Responsibilities:

    Prepare and cook menu items according to BBB recipes and specifications

    Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency

    Set up, stock, and maintain cleanliness of station throughout service

    Ensure all food products are properly labeled, dated, and rotated

    Follow all safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures

    Work efficiently during peak hours while maintaining composure and focus

    Communicate clearly and work closely with fellow cooks, prep team, and management

    Assist with prep, cleaning, and closing duties as assigned

    Key Qualifications:

    1+ year of line cook experience preferred (breakfast or short-order experience a plus!)

    Strong cooking skills and understanding of kitchen operations

    Excellent time management and multitasking abilities

    Dependable, team-oriented, and professional attitude

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency

    Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs

    Prep Cook Key Responsibilities: The Prep Cook is responsible for ensuring all food items are prepared, portioned, and ready for service according to Big Bad Breakfast’s high standards of quality and consistency.

    Prepare ingredients and recipes according to established specifications

    Wash, chop, measure, and store ingredients properly

    Follow daily prep lists and prioritize tasks to meet service demands

    Maintain cleanliness and organization in prep areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces

    Label, date, and rotate all food products to maintain freshness and food safety

    Assist line cooks and other team members during busy service periods

    Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines

    Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management

    Key Qualifications

    Previous prep or line cook experience preferred, but we’ll train the right person

    Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques

    Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality

    Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment

    Excellent teamwork and communication skills

    Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
