KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop new solutions and software products
• Document all issues, changes, and relevant information clearly and concisely
• Exposure in Troubleshooting, debugging, deployment and other activities.
• Work efficiently to ensure uptime and optimum user experience
• Work with end users and management to ensure the products and design work meets their expectations and deadlines
• Understanding of common web application security concerns and their mitigation
• Adhering to code standards
• Be capable of taking complete ownership and accountability for product features/code components
• Be a self-starter, able to deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight
• Be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams on various aspects of the solution.
• Ability to quickly ramp up and learn new technologies.
• Capable of developing high impact projects that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability, and time to market.
• Understand and participate in design discussions and implement them into robust code
• Increase overall code, product, design and quality in the organization (edited)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Turn 14 Distribution is mandating new hires to be vaccinated against Covid-19, as it is a required element of this position. Turn 14 Distribution will consider applicants who cannot receive the vaccine for medical or religious-based reasons. If hired, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination (first dose is acceptable) on the first day of employment.

• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• Advanced experience with object-oriented PHP (5+, 7 preferred)
• Experience with Linux server administration
• Self starter in a team environment
• Strong debugging skills
• Proficient in SQL query writing and debugging using EXPLAIN/Execution Plan Analysis
• Comfortable integrating with external APIs
• Experience developing RESTful APIs is helpful
• An understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture and Microservice
• Experience with MVC design pattern
• Exposure to Web Security preferred
• Experience with GIT

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• 3-5 years' experience in a professional setting with the entire LAMP Stack (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP)
• Understanding of MySQL (MySQL 5+) including database design, encoding, performance
• Familiarity with REST APIs

SKILLS THAT CAN HELP:

• Familiarity with JavaScript (jQuery), HTML5 & CSS3
• Database replication and load balancing
• Redis
• Vagrant and VMware
• Gearman or other Message Queues
• Comfortable using CSS frameworks, like Bootstrap
• Elasticsearch
• Puppet/Chef/Ansible/Salt
