Backyard Bird Shop is locally owned and operates a group of 6 nature stores founded in 1991. We are hiring individuals who value work that is stimulating and challenging and want to work in a friendly, customer service-oriented environment.

We believe a passion for birds and wildlife is best shared through great customer service. If you are passionate about nature but do not feel you are a birding expert – that is ok! We are happy to train and mentor those skills if you have the desire to learn.

Experience in supervision, retail buying, or multi-store management is a plus.

Full-time employees are compensated with health (90% paid by employer), dental and vision benefits, savings plan (up to 3% match), and vacation/holidays.

Full-time employees have a regular consistent schedule that may include weekend work. This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and assignment primarily at our Portland location.
