DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Chinese Language Global Business Researcher position will require candidate to work remotely and during business hours for China. The candidate will be conducting primary research in Chinese to gather information for a global management consulting project. Due to these requirements, the candidate needs to be comfortable representing the firm in Chinese over the phone and email. This position will be project based and will run for approximately 10 weeks. As a contractor, the candidate will set their own time schedules to meet the critical deliverable requirements of the various projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Gather, analyze, and make recommendations to meet project objectives, prepare client presentations, and assist in pre-call planning
• Conduct qualitative research of prospective targets, industries, and markets using primary and secondary source research methods
• Translate from English to Chinese and Chinese to English confidently in both written and oral business contexts
• Create in-depth client reports and polished deliverables
• Create reports and presentations utilizing qualitative analysis regarding companies, markets, and industry trends
• Stay informed of current business and industry trends relevant to your client's business

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Junior/Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university majoring in Business or related field. Master's degree preferred
• Fluent in Chinese (written and spoken)
• Business experience in China, working in Chinese
• Able to translate English to Chinese and Chinese to English
• Experience in a professional business environment requiring oral and written language and communication in English and Chinese

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

No direct supervisory duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and internet access

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This contractor position is part-time and will run for approximately 10 weeks. Candidate will determine their own schedule.
