As a Baker, you’ll ensure every cookie looks, tastes, and feels exactly the way it should. You’ll manage multiple bakes at once, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and help us deliver the warm, joyful experience our guests expect from Schmackary’s.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Core Responsibilities)Daily Baking & Production
Prepare, bake, and finish a large variety of cookies following precise recipes and techniques.
Manage multiple timers, batches, and oven rotations with accuracy and focus.
Ensure cookies meet standards for size, color, texture, and flavor every time.
Finish cookies with toppings, drizzles, frostings, or garnishes with consistency and care.
Quality & Consistency
Serve as a quality gatekeeper — nothing leaves the kitchen unless it meets spec.
Adjust bake times, temperatures, and processes as needed to maintain perfection.
Document and communicate any inconsistencies or recipe notes to leadership.
Maintain high visual and taste standards across all baked goods.
Kitchen Organization & Sanitation
Maintain a spotless workstation and follow all sanitation protocols.
Rotate product properly (FIFO) and maintain organized inventory storage.
Clean and maintain baking tools, trays, racks, mixers, and ovens.
Follow all allergen handling, labeling, and cross-contamination guidelines.
Teamwork & Communication
Collaborate with FOH, Baristas, and Dough Production teams to ensure smooth flow of product.
Communicate clearly about bake needs, shortages, or production updates.
Offer suggestions for improvement and support teammates with positivity and kindness.
Occasionally assist customers on the phone with friendly, warm Midwestern charm.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Qualifications)Experience
1–2 years of professional baking experience (bakery, café, restaurant, or production kitchen).
Experience working with commercial ovens and large-scale production equipment preferred.
Skillset
Ability to follow recipes precisely and consistently.
Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities.
Strong understanding of baking fundamentals and food safety.
Natural problem solver who can think quickly and adjust on the fly.
