    New Cannabis Cultivation and Retail operation looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team. We have plans to add processing and continue to expand. Get in early and become part of our growing company.

    BOOKKEEPER POSITION OVERVIEW: We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This role would include working under the organizations Controller, owners, and other operational leaders. The bookkeeper will contribute to ensuring we are compliant with all legal requirements, financial documents, process accounts payable and receivable, manage invoices, and tax payments for multiple entities. Our ideal candidate is familiar with accounting software packages; Quickbooks. Has the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills. Ultimately, the role’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions for the company.

    ROLE, RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

    • Setup, prepare and pay Michigan Sales Tax via MTO
    • Setup, prepare and pay Michigan cannabis excise tax via MTO
    • Bank reconciliations including cash vault logs
    • Preparing and posting various monthly accruals including payroll
    • Accounts payable experience including vendor, 1099 and W9 setup, check writing and ACH
    • Intermediate to advanced Quickbooks experience including implementation, invoice format and item
    • setup, memorized transactions, check formatting setup, accounts payable, receivable, and payroll data entry.
    • Organization, communication skills with staff, management and CPA are required
    • Payroll experience including employee, pay type, independent contractor onboarding, general ledger
    • Mapping, I9 preparation, and interacting with payroll service
    • Recording all bank and cash logs into Quickbooks.
    • Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
    • Experience or ability to work in a profoundly compliant environment is required
    • Experience or willingness to learn retail store accounting including inventory and POS system.
    • Experience or willingness to learn cannabis business compliance is required
    • Organizing, creating folders, and uploading scanned documents into a virtual drive
    • Intermediate excel skills and Microsoft 365 product experience
    • Ability to learn and work with several types of software
    • Preparation of management reports and spreadsheets for CPA
    • Experience in or ability to learn indoor farming industry is required
    • Intermediate general ledger experience is recommended
    • Solid Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting
    • Data entry with a knack for numbers
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US and willing to submit to a background check
