    Job Description

    The role of the baker is to assist in preparing bakery items to recipe standards, as well as complete daily tasks as assigned.

    Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

    Physically prepare, cook, bake, and dish up bakery items going into freezers and walk in boxes standing for hours at a station.

    1. Ability to understand verbal English to comprehend basic supervisor, employee, guest requests. Ability to understand verbal English in case of emergency situations.
    2. Requires reading and math skill for recipes and measurements.
    3. Ability to understand written English to read any caution or safety notices.
    4. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to complete food requisitions and communicate with other employees.
    5. Communicate with supervisor throughout the shift.
    6. Ability to perform duties within hot to normal to cold temperature ranges.
    7. Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use equipment including bread slicer and knives.
    8. This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
    9. Ability to operate kitchen equipment, mixer, and ovens.
    10. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances within the facility.
    11. Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing work station with supplies.
    12. Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
    13. Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
    14. "CLEAN AS YOU GO" -- Keep your workstation neat and orderly, and perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned, to adhere to standards.
    15. Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
    16. Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
    17. Ability to work with small, delicate and sensitive knives requiring fine finger dexterity.
