    A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant at Baker Rehab Group (BRG) is licensed to assist Occupational Therapists in the state(s) served by BRG and is interested in working with a varied case load that may include neurological and/or geriatric patients.

    A COTA at BRG facilitates development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.     QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Current license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, or Virginia.

    • Must have and maintain current CPR certification

    • Maintain credentialing and training requirements

    • A minimum of one (1) year of active therapy practice normally required.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible for providing occupational therapy in an effective and efficient manner in the client's home or outpatient clinic; coordinating work within the agency or facility, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures and regulatory requirements; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Performs effective and efficient follow up visits to patients who have been evaluated by the OT

    • Observes and reports the social/emotional factors relating to the client's illness

    • Continues a Plan of Treatment in accordance with the OT Evaluation

    • Communicates/Educates the client/family patients symptoms and treatment options and resources  

    • Able to progress physical and/or mental functioning through implementing effective programs involving both state of the art methods, as well as traditional techniques
