About the Role:

Finest Supermarket is looking for a talented and passionate Baker/Pastry Chef to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA! Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, desserts, and baked goods from scratch

Develop and execute recipes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation

Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies

Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards are followed

Decorate and plate pastries and desserts to meet visual and quality standards

Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and meet daily demands

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking station and equipment

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a professional kitchen

Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment

Ability to work early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed

Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification preferred

Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality and consistency

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Culinary degree or formal pastry training is a plus
