    Job Description

    The Balance Engineer will be recognized as an authoritative source of technical expertise and advice in a local area within a business and viewed as a key member of the broader team of technical expertise by senior capability leadership.

    What you will be doing:

    • Work with Engineering Design to develop innovative and practical balancing solutions for complex components, sub-assemblies and engine assemblies.
    • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop appropriate methods for incorporation into Assembly Instructions.
    • Work with tool designers and external vendors to define tooling, fixtures and machines required to perform balancing operations for current and future assemblies in Indianapolis.
    • Participate in capital improvement projects procuring new equipment and tooling.
    • Improve your technical skills through internal and external training.
    • Participate in product verification audits.
    • Domestic and international travel – approximately 10%.

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with 5+ years of experience in dynamics, design or manufacturing disciplines; OR
    • Masters Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in dynamics, design or manufacturing disciplines;
    • In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Good written communication skills
    • Good presentation skills
    • Demonstrated team leadership skills
    • Theoretical understanding of static and dynamic balancing techniques
    • Experience in the design, development and production of aerospace components and assemblies.
    • Dynamics experience
    • Experience using PFMEA for process design and improvement activities
    • Experience using PLM/NX for data and document management and Solid Modelling
    • Experience using Schenk balancing equipment.
    • Advanced understanding of static and dynamic balancing techniques
