Job Description
Balboa United is looking for an Information Technology Manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our information technology systems and support in alignment with our exciting digital acceleration! This individual will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs. Additionally, this person will manage internal staff and act as an informed liaison with our external service providers.
The successful candidate will have proven skills, professional experience and a sound working knowledge of the healthcare industry’s best practice processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic (10%)
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
Provide input to annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
Managerial (50%)
Oversee implementation and maintenance of cloud-computing, network, telecommunicates, datacenter, security, and business continuity systems
Oversee all areas of help desk support, field support, network support,
Oversee the implementation of Epic EHR upgrades for medical practices
Provide Project Management support as needed in concert with our PMO
Hire and manage IT staff by recruiting, training and developing employees
Tactical (40%)
Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
Hardware (desktop, server, telephony, mobile, network) Software (local, private, public cloud) setup, configuration, troubleshooting and optimization
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
Audit systems and assess their outcomes
Preserve assets, information security and control structures
Ensure IT standards and compliance

Beginning in 1973, Balboa has grown from two physicians to a comprehensive nephrology team of 52 board certified physicians and 8 advanced practitioners. On January 1, 2018, Balboa Nephrology Medical Group (BNMG) launched Balboa United, a full-service medical practice management services organization. From one small office, BNMG now has 24 clinical offices throughout San Diego, Imperial, Orange and Riverside counties. In addition to office and hospital-based patient care, Balboa physicians manage the dialysis treatments of approximately 4,500 patients at 88 dialysis centers and conduct Nephrology based clinical research at 6 centers throughout Imperial and San Diego counties (California Institute of Renal Research).
