    PRIMARY PURPOSE: 

    Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to effectively and efficiently implement reasonable academic adjustments as approved by the Associate Director of Accessibility Resources; collects and maintains programmatic data for a wide array of disability services; and promotes accessibility initiatives and messaging across campus.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Meets with returning students to address general accommodations and ESL testing modification requests each semester, updates information related to existing accommodations for new classes each semester in Accommodate.
    • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to ensure implementation of accommodations and testing modifications through the interactive process including but not limited to note-taking services, class recordings and other software programs offered as an accommodation to students,
    • Escalates complex issues to the Associate Director of Accessibility Resources and ADA Coordinator.
    • Ensures confidentiality and privacy standards are upheld when participating in the interactive process.
    • Coordinates implementation of approved ADA classroom accommodations through the Accommodate software, with the Coordinator of Student Employment for note-taking services, or other means, as needed.
    • Notifies Media Services of ADA approved classroom recordings; password protects the recording links; uploads recordings to the Accommodate software daily; and deletes recordings at the end of a term.
    • Manages and maintains Accommodate software to ensure proper functioning each semester.
    • Manages accessibility equipment and use during the semester and for final exams.
    • Requests books in electronic format from approved vendors or other accessible materials or equipment as needed.
    • Coordinates the logistics of interim formative assessments with faculty, staff and students by scheduling and assigning testing rooms, securing required technology and assistive devices, providing clear instructions to the accommodated students, collaborating with the Registrar’s office and Faculty Support to obtain and return the interim formative assessments to the faculty.
    • Procures proctors for formative assessments and self-proctors for interim formative assessments and final exams to monitor the integrity of testing process and testing anonymity where required.
    • Schedules student meetings and other meetings on behalf of ADA Coordinator and ADA office.
    • Manages the ADA email and calendar.
    • Educates campus partners on relevant accessibility topics.
    • Prepare time-sensitive tasks for Accessibility Resources office, including updating administrative functionality requirements in Accommodate software, gathering supporting documentation for the Associate Director of Accessibility Resources and ADA Coordinator’s approval.
    • Cross-trained to provide back-up assistance in coordinating and arranging for note-takers.
    • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of workflow in Accommodate student files.
    • Records data for the population of students with disabilities, and the services Accessibility resources provides number and types of accommodations and services provided, and note-taker data in Accommodate.
    • Refers students to Stetson campus-partners, outside community resources, social service organizations, and medical providers, when appropriate.
    • Updates the accessibility resources webpage, as needed.
    • Keeps apprised of evolving disability laws, best practices, and accessible technology.
    • Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others;
    • All other general administrative duties, as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelors’ degree in psychology, education, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field.
    • 3 to 5 years administrative support experience required.
    • In lieu of degree, consideration for years of experience in an education environment, or satisfactory combination of education and/or experience.
    • Experience working with a broad range of disabilities in an academic environment.
    • Basic understanding of federal and states disability laws, policies, and best practices.
    • Manage highly confidentiality information protected by HIPPA, FERPA, the ADA, and related laws.
    • Familiarity with universal design principles.
    • Identify solutions, generate options, or alternative approaches when problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
    • Demonstrate a high level of organization, flexibility, sound judgment, and interpersonal skills, while meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
    • Works to build an environment that promotes and facilitates the success of Diversity and Inclusive Excellence.
    • Ability to work flexible work schedule during busy office periods.
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).  Experience working with Banner, Web Garage, Ensemble, and Accommodate software, preferred.
