  • Responsibilities

    The Manager of Learning & Curriculum Development reports to the Director of Pilot Training and is responsible for the initial development and enhancement of the AQP. This individual will keep all persons engaged in the Sun Country Airlines’ AQP informed of the provisions of the airlines Operations Specifications as they relate to the conduct of training and certification of pilots and the instructors/evaluators.

    Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Maintaining a full understanding of FAA regulations pertaining to the AQP
    • Maintaining a full understanding of pilot record requirements
    • Maintaining a full understanding of pilot qualification requirements
    • Maintaining a full understanding of Threat and Error Management (TEM)
    • Maintaining a full understanding of Crew Resource Management (CRM)
    • Managing the AQP Developer(s)
    • Submitting recommendations to the Director of Pilot Training for development and modification of content, policies, procedures, instructions, and information for the AQP Manual and AQP to maintain regulatory compliance
    • Acts as liaison with AFS-280 in the absence of the Director of Pilot Training
    • Ensuring timely transmission of data as described in the I & 0 Plan
    • Facilitation of quarterly AQP Quality Assurance meetings in coordination with the Sr. Manager of Flight Training & Standards
    • Preparation and delivery of the AQP Annual Report
    • Oversee the development of Pilot eLearning
    • Ensure compliance of Pilot CBTs

    Required Skills

    • Knowledge of Advisory Circular 120-54A and FAR Subpart Y
    • Pilot training content development experience
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, including the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables and summarize data from multiple sources
    • Critical thinking and problem solving skills, with high attention to detail.
    • Ability to multi-task and drive closure to open issues.
    • Team player to collaborate with business units
    • Aviation background required
    • Self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organization skills with a high level of attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast paced environment

    Required Experience

    • 5-7 Years aviation experience
    • AQP development experience
    • Working knowledge of the FARs and Advisory Circulars
  • Qualifications
    • Knowledge of Advisory Circular 120-54A and FAR Subpart Y
    • Pilot training content development experience
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, including the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables and summarize data from multiple sources
