    JOB SUMMARY:   

    Successful candidate shall be able to demonstrate proven expertise in programming robotic arms for various movements to automate current manual processes.  Candidate must also be able to operate and maintain existing programming of product processed through the robotic cells.

     PRIMARY FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain preventative and planned maintenance, calibration, and remastering of robotic arms facility-wide.
    • Write new program paths to automate existing product lines.
    • Update active programs when necessary to assure functionality is maintained.
    • Develop new fixturing to support automation of product lines.
    • Capable of resetting safety circuits to bring the robot back to the home position and/or back to operation after work has been performed.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; bend; walk; crawl; kneel; crouch; climb stairs; use hand/fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; lift from arm level; turn head sideways, up and down; read and write. The employee must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, mid-range vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  Annual eye examinations may be required. 

    • Capable of standing while operating equipment up to 12 hours daily
    • Willing and able to work overtime as required
    • Willing to work any shift as necessary

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is representative of those in a standard machine shop environment including extreme cold and heat.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    The work environment consists of a number assembly, hot form, torch cutting, welding and machine shop areas.  While the Company makes every effort to reduce and eliminate all safety hazards, this type of environment does involve safety hazards, which require extra care on the part of the employee. Such hazards include, but are not limited to: moderate to high pressure test gases, high electrical voltages; chemicals; and sharp objects, such as might be generated around machine tools.  The noise in the work environment is moderate to high.  Temperature extremes are regulated, but not as closely as typical indoor offices.  Personnel protection equipment is provided.

    Required Skills

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

    • Ability to power up the robot and peripheral equipment.
    • Basic understanding of the robot as it is outlined in the company’s routine maintenance procedure.
    • Basic understanding of the robot control panel.
    • Knowledge of general safety requirements.
    • Working knowledge of all the robotic peripheral equipment.
    • Ability to perform routine and preventive maintenance on the robot.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and understand both written and oral instructions, e.g. safety notices and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, etc.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply basic shop math functions.

    REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum of 1 year working in a comparable robotic programming role with successful completion of 2 year associates in robotics or equivalent training program.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Good mechanical aptitude.
