  • Responsibilities
    • Place purchase orders, expediting, cancelling, and deferring materials and orders with suppliers at the most favorable terms for the company
    • Update management and stakeholders on status of orders
    • Track orders to ensure timely delivery
    • Providing forecast information to suppliers
    • Working with internal departments and supply base on the return and coordination of defective material; coordinates the charge-back of labor incurred by replacing defective material to suppliers
    • Mentoring and training less experienced employees on departmental processes and procedures; serving as back-up to Senior Buyer as necessary
    • Completing all tasks and assignments given by supervisor or management on time
    • Negotiate supplier claims

    Required Skills

    • Proven ability to be a team player, self-starter, and communicate effectively
    • Ability to operate and analyze inventory programs and systems as relates to tactical purchasing
    • Proven experience with conflict resolution, including ability to resolve issues affecting the accomplishment of department and division goals
    • Strong understanding of inventory management and high attention to detail
    • Ability to work in both an office and factory environment
    • Ability to work long hours from time to time
    • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Etc.)
    • A strong communicator with solid interpersonal skills
    • A desire to grow within the organization and bring positive change

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
    • 1 – 3 years of experience in Materials, Purchasing, or Inventory Management; 3+ years of experience preferred
    • Experience working within SyteLine ERP system preferred
    • Experience buying for a manufacturing organization a plus
  • Qualifications
