    JOB TITLE: ORR Front Counter, Work-Study

     

    DEPARTMENT: Office of Registration & Records 

     

    PAY RATE: $11.25 per hour 

     

    NUMBER OF OPENINGS: 5

     

    Summer Semester 2018

    Fall Semester 2018

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • ARR front counter staff will respond to in-person inquiries relating to, but not limited to, enrollment, registration, residency, graduation, holds, veteran services, international, College Opportunity Fund, orientation, incoming and outgoing transcripts.
    • Troubleshoot registration issues.
    • Staff will direct students to appropriate office/staff in order to continue with the enrollment process. 
    • Complete office tasks such as: stuffing envelopes, maintaining the front counter stocked with forms, place comments on students' accounts, and placing holds on students' accounts.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

     

    • Must be a current student of the Community College of Denver, taking at least six hours of credit and awarded work-study funds.
    • Customer Service, front desk and/or office administration.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Bilingual, experience working Internet Native Banner Information System, one to two semesters or previous experience working in Higher Education.

     

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

     

    • Working knowledge of CCD Main Campus support functions.
    • Knowledge of and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
    • Extreme attention to detail to verify and assimilate accuracy of records, compliance of operations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook.
    • Manual coordination to operate computer keyboard and phone. Ability to think, be patient, soothe irate individuals, communicate with the members accurately in a pleasing manner.
    • Ability to work effectively as a team member sharing duties and responsibilities and ensuring daily completion.
    • Function well in diverse environment.
    • Strong organizational and problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and navigate multiple computer applications and web pages.

     

     

    TIME COMMITMENT

     

    Up to 20 hours a week (may not exceed 20 hours per week)

    • Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment
    • Must be flexible to work ALL shifts including weekends and holidays.
    • Must have basic English skills
    • Must be able to move lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 80 pounds
    • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
    • Must be able to stand sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
    • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
