    CLASSIFICATION: Contracted, Hourly/Non-Exempt

    COMPENSATION: $14.00 per hour

    JOB SUMMARY: Provide entertainment as our mascots, Skip and Lil’ Skip, at all home games and outside community appearances. During games, meet and greet fans and take pictures with fans to enhance the all-around game experience.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Display enthusiasm and high energy at all times to keep the entertainment level high.
    • Develop, create, and execute skits to be performed on the field or court to enhance the game day experience for the Skippers' fans.
    • Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character, including body language/mannerisms, attitude, fan interaction, and team representation.
    • Works well in a team environment.
    • Administer costume maintenance as well as props daily.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Under the general supervision of the Promotions Manager.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Flexible work schedule: Must be available to work nights and weekends as assigned.
    • Previous experience as a mascot preferred.
    • Must be in good physical shape and able to occasionally lift 25+ pounds.
    • Theater and dance experience preferred.

    The selected individual must be service-oriented, exercise good judgement, has excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills. The ability to remain calm under pressure, work independently, and maintain a focus on priorities while meeting strict deadlines are required.

    The ability to build strong working relationships, be able to learn the basics of new technological applications fairly quickly, an eye for detail, and the ability to anticipate issues and proactively develop and implement creative solutions are essential.
