    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, Faculty, Fall Semester 2020

    CLASSIFICATION: Probationary Status

    SALARY RANGE: $47,239 – $77,136 Fall 2020 Rate

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Teaching assignment may include a full range of courses within the Physics and Astronomy disciplines.
    • Teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses such as Introductory Physics for non-majors, College Physics, Calculus based physics including Mechanics, Heat, Sound, Electricity, Light and Modern Physics topics, Statics and Electric Currents, and Introductory Astronomy courses concerning the Solar System and Stars.
    • Teaching assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or on-line courses.
    • Teaching responsibilities include teaching courses, maintaining scheduled office hours, advising students, developing curriculum and participating in College service, and professional development activities.
    • Leadership in developing and improving our academic courses.
    • Lead faculty member for the new Challenger Exhibit.
    • Community service is encouraged.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s degree or higher required in Physics, Astronomy or related field.
    • All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
    • Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Teaching experience at the community college level.
    • Experience and/or interest in using multi-media/new instructional technology in the classroom.
    • Experience with community outreach programs in Physics and/or Astronomy.
    • Openness to the development of Physics and Astronomy courses online.
