    SYMPTOM SCREENER

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-Time, up to 30 hours per week (Staffing needs to be determined by the College) ( hours may include morning,  evening and/or weekend hours)

    CLASSIFICATION: Career Plan, Limited Term, Contracted

    HOURLY RATE: $12.00 PER HOUR

    FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

    JOB SUMMARY: Ask basic questions to gather information for a symptom check of people prior to entering the campus facilities. Perform temperature checks and provide wristband to those eligible to enter the facility. Document information gathered as appropriate.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare screening station for shift. Ensure all needed supplies are stocked and station is sanitized.
    • Be aware of campus policies and procedures for screening and returning to work.
    • Direct pedestrian traffic and ensure 6ft. physical distancing guidelines are followed at the entry points whenever possible.
    • Interact with people entering campus, either by vehicle or walking, ensuring each person wears a mask during the screening process.
    • Verify self-screening results using provided link to screening questionnaire or ask each person entering campus the COVID-19 self-declaration questions.
    • Conduct temperature screening of all people entering campus utilizing a handheld IR thermometer.
    • Issue the designated wristband to those eligible for entry.
    • Instruct those who do not pass the screen to leave campus with direction to contact their supervisor or instructor (dependent upon status as a student or employee).
    • Follow safety protocols by wearing proper PPE while screening, to include a mask, face shield, and gloves (to be provided). Any changes to safety protocols will be communicated and must be followed.
    • Maintain confidentiality of personal information - temperatures read, audible responses received, and reactions/responses observed must be kept confidential except as necessary to administer the screening process.
    • Attend training as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Under the general supervision of the Campus Patrol & Training Manager

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent education. 
    • Experience working with the public providing excellent customer service.
    • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) and follow outlined processes.
    • Ability to exhibit behaviors that provide a positive experience for all people entering campus.
    • Ability to withstand working in the outdoor elements.
    • Ability to operate an IR thermometer effectively (training will be provided).
    • Available to work mornings or evenings and/or weekends.

    The selected individual will be a team player who prefers to work in a collaborative environment with other motivated professionals to achieve firm-wide and departmental goals. Must be assertive, ambitious and an independent learner with solid analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to handle multiple demands, prioritize tasks and the pressure of meeting deadlines. Also, excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are needed to be successful in this position.
