    Compensation:

    2023/2024 Academic Year

    Master's degree (or higher) rate = $619 per contact hour

    Bachelor’s degree rate = $567 per contact hour

    Contact hours vary depending on course offering

    General Information:

    • Teaching assignment may include a full range first and second year visual arts offerings within the visual arts
    • Teaching responsibilities include teaching, maintaining scheduled office hours, and advising students
    • Participation in developing and improving academic courses
    • Morning, afternoon, evening, and online offerings may be available

    JOB SUMMARY: To design and deliver instruction to students.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare and deliver academic instruction, including developing syllabi, developing content and administering assessments
    • Maintain and submit necessary class records, including early alert and final grade reports and attendance verification for financial aid compliance
    • Participate in student grade appeal procedures
    • Observe college calendar
    • Post and maintain conference hours
    • Participate in assessment of student learning and assessment reporting according to assessment plan

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Master’s in Studio Art (Sculpture, Ceramics, or related field), or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Studio Art (Sculpture, Ceramics or related field)
    • Provide a visual art portfolio within application as a link, or email to hr@sc4.edu. Candidates who have degrees in Art History, or similar research-based art degrees do not need to submit a portfolio.”
    • Teaching experience at the higher education level preferred
    • All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university

  • Qualifications

    Essential

    • Bachelors Degree in any field with at least 7 years of experience.
    • Lead and Manage with a team, as a team.  Provide developers mentorship, coaching, and guidance.  Foster professional development as well as help manage any issues that may arise.
    • Know how to write, edit and develop in the languages of the web. Minimum PHP, JS, CSS/LESS/SASS, with supporting experience in Java, Python, Ruby, Go, and/or Swift.  Be an expert in at least 1 language from this list, and have more than a passing familiarity with most of the others.
    • Drupal is key, and experience across D6, D7, D8 is necessary. This includes Drupal/Drupal Module Development/Drupal Migrations.
    • Hands-on experience coding in more than one currently popular web application framework.   A great start beyond that would be exposure and experience across Node, RoR, Bootstrap, Foundation, Angular/Ember/Backbone/React, JQuery …
    • Common web format understanding is critical across JSON, XML, HTML, CSV and more.
    • Understand the full web stack; today and tomorrow.  Speak to common protocols HTTP, HTTPS, TLS, DDP, REST, SOAP as well as to systems, Kubernetes, Docker … and more. (see below)
    • Demonstrated ability to envision web-based services that meet audience needs or solve business problems.
    • 5+ years of experience managing web application development to include application of the skills listed above in an agency or similar environment.
    • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment in multiple team roles (product owner, scrum master, development lead, and developer)
    • Overall strong communication skills, the demonstrated capacity to follow-up and follow-though, the ability to handle and deliver well across multiple competing priorities, and show consistent attention to detail
    • Capable of leveraging through knowledge of web standards to apply systematic and productive change
    • Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management (beyond OWASP top 10)
    • Knowledge of working with continuous integration tools
    • Experience with implementing and working with load testing tools
    • LAMP Stack including Server Administration

    Recommended

    • Between 3 and 5 years of progressively increasing responsibility to include direct management of personnel and team leadership capacity.  Work history in a fast paced environment and having provided professional development are key components.
    • Database understanding; Most important for us are MySQL, MS SQL, with use for Mongo, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.  Understand and explain SQL vs NoSQL.
    • API development experience; from leveraging a well formed API, to documenting an API that you did not write… understanding the way code and systems connect is essential.
    • Understand the full web stack; today and tomorrow.  Beyond common protocols listed above, speak to systems, Kubernetes, Firebase, Mesos, Containers, Docker, Swarm, Marathon, Hadoop, CoreOS, OpenAI, OneOps, GraphQL, Relay/Redux/Apollo, Spark, TensorFlow… and more.
    • Solid background knowledge of data aggregation and a grasp of data warehousing concepts 
    • Demonstrated expertise with a variety of single sign on systems and the multiple integration points involved
    • Experience with Linux system administration and web server configuration (with OS scripting)
    • Knowledge of Internet protocols and RFC standards, db management systems, version control
    • Acquaintance with technical requirements of internet marketing and search engine optimization
    • Grasp of consumer privacy and compliance requirements - seasoned and skillful execution of work in this area
