    Job Description

What happens between when a customer clicks “Buy” and the order shows up on their doorstep? How did the product made in Europe get to our American warehouse? If you want to be one of the people behind that eCommerce magic, we invite you to apply for this role.

As Operations Strategist, you will help manage day-to-day warehouse operations and order processing tasks for our businesses, as well as assist in various other operations related tasks like forecasting, transfers, and allocation. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the point of contact within the company to communicate with the warehouses for order processing, and then work cross-functionally towards optimizing inventory allocation and order processing. A successful candidate is curious and often finds themselves as the person at the table asking “why?” or “is there a better way?”.

This role will also collaborate with various departments, working on cross-functional projects. Whether it is communicating inventory or helping the customer success team track down an order, you will partner with multiple functions throughout Balsam Brands. You will also collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure warehouses are supporting marketplace, Public Relations, Return to Prime and special project processing tasks – such as evaluating warranty program options, testing collapsible boxes for rental programs, trial running new carriers, tendering for retooling warehouse, and more! In addition, you will jump in to help our team, improve our capabilities, and handle challenges by gathering and providing data in a resourceful manner.

This full-time position reports to the Director of Operations. This role is expected to work in a hybrid model, which includes two days in-office.

    What you’ll do:

    • Work with warehouses to facilitate the movement of orders and inventory and co-ordinate with shipping carriers
    • Monitor supply chain and financial metrics to optimize the costs and experience of shipping to customer
    • Partner with supply chain, customer service, internal cross-functional partners and external vendors making process improvements and solving operational challenges
    • Collaborate with remote teams across geographies using a variety of technology
    • Prepare reports for senior leadership to improve visibility of operational challenges, identify opportunities to optimize order processing, inventory allocation, and inventory management
    • Become an expert in various operational processes such as communicating effectively with warehouses, supporting all order processing tasks and optimizing inventory allocation

What you bring to the table:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Engineering, and/or Supply Chain; Master’s degree preferred
    • 2+ years of experience in data analysis – Retail, eCommerce, or supply chain experience a bonus
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated history of teamwork, including a willingness to jump in to help accomplish tasks
    • Inquisitive mind and analytical approach to solving problems
    • A sharp eye for the detail
    • Self-starter with a can-do attitude
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel; ability to learn software programs
