Position Overview:

AKT is hiring an in-house merch and apparel designer at our Orlando headquarters. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes music merch design—someone with taste, range, and a deep understanding of what fans actually want to wear. Your portfolio, aesthetic, and creative instincts matter more to us than how long you've been doing this.

Timeliness and quality of all creative projects executed on behalf of clients or internal departments is essential. Only excellent communicators wanted!

Skills Required:

• Must be self-motivated, professional, and work well under pressure

• Mac: Our office uses mostly Apple computers, so you must be Mac proficient.

• Adobe Creative Cloud software bundle (Photoshop & Illustrator knowledge required)

• Bonus skills include: Photography and web design

Responsibilities:**

• Design original band merchandise: T-shirts, hoodies, hats, accessories, etc.

• Create cohesive merch lines, tour drops, and artist-specific apparel collections

• Adapt to creative direction quickly, or lead with your own ideas when needed

• Collaborate with our internal teams to keep projects moving and on-brand

• Pull from trends in music, fashion, and fan culture to elevate the work

• Maintain organized working files and project consistency

Production Knowledge (Bonus):**

• Screen printing, embroidery, digital hybrid printing

• Promotional products and specialty decoration finishes

• Pre-production art file setup (not required, but helpful)

Requirements:**

• Strong portfolio focused on merch or apparel for music, entertainment, or streetwear

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

• Ability to work full-time on-site in Orlando, FL

• Comfortable balancing concept development and fast execution

Bonus:

• Familiarity with band scenes, labels, festivals, or music communities

• Experience creating production mockups or e-commerce visuals

• Confident presenting and defending your creative work
