About the Role:

Atlas Metal Cutting Inc is looking for an entry-level Amada Horizontal Band Saw Operator.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate band saw equipment to cut metal materials to specified dimensions

Read and interpret work orders and cutting specifications

Inspect finished cuts for accuracy, quality, and compliance with tolerances

Perform routine maintenance and blade changes on band saw machinery

Measure and mark raw metal stock prior to cutting using calipers and measuring tools

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety protocols

Monitor machine performance and report any mechanical issues to supervisors

Material handling using a forklift

Requirements:

Prior experience operating a band saw or similar metal cutting machinery is helpful

Ability to read cutting specifications

Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise, quality cuts

Knowledge of safe material handling practices

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy metal stock as needed

Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively

Forklift certification is a plus
