Dunn Law, P.A. is a Miami-based law firm with a nationally recognized fiduciary, receivership, assignee, and insolvency practice. We regularly serve as court-appointed fiduciaries, assignees, receivers, and counsel in matters involving distressed businesses, real estate portfolios, operating companies, and complex asset recoveries. Our work blends legal strategy, financial oversight, and real-world operations, and we pride ourselves on precision, accountability, and execution. We are seeking a mid-level Bankruptcy Associate (3–7 years of experience) to support our creditor-side bankruptcy and insolvency practice. This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys complex financial matters, litigation strategy, and working closely with clients involved in distressed and restructuring situations. The associate will play a key role in representing secured and unsecured creditors, fiduciaries, and other stakeholders in bankruptcy proceedings, receiverships, and related insolvency matters. This is a hands-on role offering substantial responsibility, client interaction, and exposure to sophisticated restructuring and insolvency matters. The position is best suited for a motivated attorney who exercises sound judgment, manages competing priorities effectively, and is comfortable navigating both litigation and transactional aspects of distressed situations. Responsibilities: • Represent creditors, lenders, fiduciaries, and other stakeholders in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and related insolvency proceedings. • Draft and argue motions, objections, and other pleadings in bankruptcy court, including matters involving automatic stay relief, cash collateral, adequate protection, claim objections, and asset sales. • Assist with bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings and contested matters. • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on bankruptcy, insolvency, and creditors’ rights issues. • Draft and review restructuring documents, settlement agreements, and court filings. • Participate in strategic case planning, including creditor recovery strategies and asset disposition approaches. • Work closely with the firm’s fiduciary and receivership teams on matters involving distressed assets, operating businesses, and complex financial structures. • Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, receivers, brokers, and other professionals involved in insolvency proceedings. • Manage discovery, document review, and case preparation for hearings and litigation. • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and risk analysis. Qualifications: • 3–7 years of experience practicing bankruptcy, restructuring, or creditors’ rights law. • Experience representing creditors, lenders, or fiduciaries in bankruptcy or insolvency matters strongly preferred. • Strong drafting skills and experience preparing bankruptcy motions, pleadings, and court filings. • Experience handling contested matters or adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court is a plus. • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail. • Strong organizational and project management skills. • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. • Admission to the Florida Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly). Our firm offers a collaborative business environment where attorneys gain meaningful responsibility and exposure to sophisticated matters. Associates work directly with partners and clients on complex insolvency issues involving distressed businesses, real estate portfolios, and financial recoveries.
