The Debt Defenders by Ciment Law Firm, PLLC, a leading debt resolution and consumer protection law firm, is seeking a seasoned Bankruptcy Attorney (Team Lead – Chapter 7 & 13) to play a key leadership role within our practice. In addition to representing clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters, this position provides hands-on oversight of case workflow, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and full compliance from intake through discharge. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of bankruptcy experience or a proven track record of handling 300+ bankruptcy cases. Responsibilities: • Partner with the paralegal team and clients to review bankruptcy files for accuracy, completeness, and readiness at each stage. • Prepare and coach clients for their 341 meetings, ensuring they understand the process, expectations, and required documentation. • Oversee the review of bankruptcy notices, motions, objections, and pleadings to maintain quality control, compliance, and timely responses. • Collaborate closely with case attorneys and trustees to resolve issues efficiently and keep matters moving forward. • Analyze each case for legal and procedural issues and develop practical resolution strategies (e.g., refiles, conversions, plan modifications, and other corrective options). • Handle case-specific legal needs as assigned, including reaffirmation agreements, modifications, dismissals, legal research, and related filings. • Conduct client interviews to gather key facts, identify legal issues early, and ensure the team has the information needed to proceed confidently. Qualifications: • Strong commitment to client advocacy and consumer protection. • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. • Licensed attorney and member in good standing with the Texas State Bar. • Admitted to practice in one or more Texas Federal Courts, with flexibility to obtain additional admissions. • Capable of delivering independent legal instruction and serving as a resource for team guidance. Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 yearly PLUS annual bonus
