As a Banquet Captain, you will lead a team to deliver seamless banquet operations and exceed guest expectations. Your attention to detail and leadership skills will shine as you coordinate events with precision and grace. Responsibilities: • Assign specific tasks to staff for each event, covering all work shifts, including set-up, reception, event tear-down, and side work. • Lead team lineups at the start of each shift. Inspect uniforms, review assignments, and go over the steps of service for each event. • Welcome the host (on-site contact) for assigned events and maintain communication throughout the event. • Work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Event Coordinator to plan all events. • Record issued uniforms and ensure they are returned. Sort dirty uniforms for cleaning. • Ensure both the front and back of the house are kept clean and orderly. • Be knowledgeable about the menu for each event and be able to explain major ingredients and preparation methods to guests. • Create detailed reports of each function, including comments from the host. • Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests. • Use a cash register or point-of-sale system as needed. • Handle guest complaints within the scope of authority, or refer them to management. Notify supervisors or security of any unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged thefts. • Carry out other job-related duties as assigned. • Participate in all staff meetings as required by management. • Maintain close communication and cooperation with the Director of Food & Beverage, the administrative team, and co-workers to ensure consistent service and high-quality operations. Qualifications: • High-quality standards for production and service. • Diplomatic and calm. • Strong verbal communication skills. • Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. • Customer service focus. • Trustworthy and reliable. • Previous banquet experience required. • High School Diploma. • Available to work weekends, evenings and/or holidays. • Hospitality experience preferred. • Must be eligible to work in the USA. • Must be able to work on your feet for up to 12 hours. Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and supplies weighing 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion. Compensation: $18 hourly +tips
