General Responsibilities:
Assist in the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events.
Serve as the on-the-floor point of contact for banquet staff during events.
Ensure all event spaces are prepared according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
Provide clear direction and support to servers, bartenders, and setup crew.
Monitor event timelines and communicate any delays or changes to relevant staff.
Greet and interact with guests in a courteous, professional manner.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the event.
Support with A/V setup as needed (microphones, projectors, etc.).
Handle minor guest issues with a service-first attitude; escalate as needed to the Banquet & Event Manager.
Coordinate end-of-event duties such as clearing, resetting, and basic reporting.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Hospitality coursework or certifications a plus.
Certifications:
TIPS Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
CPR & First Aid helpful, but not required.
Skills & Competencies:
Friendly, professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
Team leadership and delegation abilities.
Detail-oriented and organized under pressure.
Basic familiarity with A/V equipment (training provided).
Ability to read and follow BEOs and event timelines.
Tech-savvy enough to use tools like Google Docs and Sheets.
Experience:
1+ year experience in banquets, catering, or restaurant service required.
Prior lead server or team lead experience preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead banquet service staff on the floor during events.
Assist with training new team members.
Provide feedback to Banquet Manager on staff performance and guest feedback.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Long periods of standing and walking.
Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform physical tasks during event setup and breakdown.
Clear vision and hearing for communication and service execution.
