    Department: Kitchen Reports to: Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

    Compensation

    $15-$17 hourly Varies based on experience and education

    The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food for large-scale events according to established recipes and presentation standards. This role works closely with the culnary team to ensure timely serivce, high quality dishes, and adherence to food safety guidelines.

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare large quantities of food (chopping, butchering, sauce making) according to recipes and station checklists.

    Execute high-volume, timed plating for events and set up/maintain buffet stations.

    Required to learn all menu items produced in immediate area.

    Ensure food meets presentation and temperature standards, tasting, and testing items for quality.

    Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper labeling, dating, and storage of leftovers.

    Safely operate kitchen machinery like mixers, fryers, broilers, and ovens.

    Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

    Essential Functions

    Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.

    Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.

    Ability to visually check work, work area, and hotel space.

    Minimum lifting of 30 pounds.

    Other Requirements

    Knowledge of English and local language.

    Ability to communicate with guests and associates in a professional and courteous manner.

    Ability to handle conflict situations in a professional manner.

    Be well groomed and adhere to the hotel’s dress code.

    Safety Awareness

    Maintain safety by adhering to safety policies, being responsible to report all accidents immediately. Support all safety programs. Proceed with caution when walking on slippery floors. Ensure proper safety instructions are given before operating any equipment. Ensures the kitchen meets all safety standards.

    Notice:

    ARLLC, operating as Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, function seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. You as an associate must realize this fact and be aware that at times, it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift, as business demands. In addition, you understand that business determines the amount of hours you work, and that some weeks may be scheduled for less than forty hours, and on other weeks you may be scheduled to work more than forty hours per week.
