Exciting opportunity to join our banquet team at the Embassy Suites Newark as a Banquet Houseperson. The Banquet Houseperson sets up and breaks down banquet rooms, maintains cleanliness, and assists with event logistics. They are responsible for arranging tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment according to event specifications, as well as cleaning and sanitizing the banquet area before, during, and after events. Responsibilities: • This includes arranging tables, chairs, linens, tableware, and other equipment according to the event layout. • Keeping the banquet hall clean and organized, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and ensuring all equipment is in good working condition. • This may include replenishing supplies, assisting with food and beverage service, and providing support to guests during events. • Working with banquet managers, coordinators, and other staff to ensure smooth event execution and address any issues promptly. Qualifications: • Physical fitness and stamina to handle the physical demands of the job. • Attention to detail to ensure proper setup and maintenance. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Customer service skills to assist guests and address their needs. • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays. • Housekeeping experience is preferred. Compensation: $15 per hour
