Exciting opportunity to join our team at the Marriott Tacoma Downtown as a Banquet Server. The banquet server's primary role is to provide food and beverage service at catered events like weddings, parties, and corporate functions. They are responsible for setting up the event space, serving guests, clearing tables, and ensuring a positive dining experience. Banquet servers need to be efficient, attentive, and work well within a team. Responsibilities: Event Setup & Preparation: • Setting up tables, chairs, linens, and place settings. • Arranging buffets and drink stations. • Ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are in place. Food & Beverage Service: • Serving food and beverages to guests, either plated or from a buffet. • Refilling drinks and ensuring guests have everything they need. • Taking food and drink orders and relaying them to the kitchen. • Answering questions about menu items. Post-Event Duties: • Clearing tables and removing dirty dishes. • Cleaning up the event space and restoring it to its original state. • Assisting with inventory and storage of equipment and food. General Responsibilities: • Providing excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for guests. • Working collaboratively with other staff members, including kitchen staff and event planners. • Maintaining a clean and organized work area. • Adhering to safety and sanitation standards. • Being available to work on-call, as events may vary in schedule. Qualifications: • Prior banquet experience preferred but not required. • Food service or similar industry experience is ideal. • Weekend availability. Compensation: $16.66 an hour
