OVERVIEW OF ROLE: The purpose of the Conventions Setup position is to set, maintain, and refresh hotel banquet meeting rooms according to sales contracts and company standards. Ensuring that all banquet and meeting rooms are properly set in a timely manner, so the banquet service may prepare for functions. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. 2nd shift availability is required. Responsibilities: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist with food and beverage service, guest attention, and overall logistics of banquet events. • Assist with the set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc., for full-service banquet events. • Maintain a sense of urgency when on the service floor. • Maintain back of the house, front of the house, and side work duties. • Maintain clear and open communication between all staff members. • Follow health and safety practices at all times. • Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude towards guests and staff. • Complete all other duties as assigned. • Assist in the training or orientation of all banquet staff. • Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: ESSENTIAL SKILLS: • Adapts to rapidly changing environmental factors. • High level of professionalism. • Strong communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments. • Customer service-oriented ensures each guest has an excellent experience. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • At least one (1) year of banquet setup experience is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Compensation: $18 an hour to start
