    Department: Front of House (FOH – Bar Operations) Reports To: General Manager Location: Scottsdale / Tempe / Phoenix Pay: Starting at $55,000/year and may differ based on experience.

    About The Position

    The Bar Manager oversees daily bar operations and leads the FOH bar team with confidence, urgency, and approachability. This role acts as the primary bar-side leader on shift, supporting the General Manager while maintaining service standards, staff accountability, and guest experience during high-volume service.

    This is a salaried manager role. You’ll be on the floor, behind the bar when needed, and actively involved in the action

    Bar Operations & Shift Leadership

    Lead all bar operations during assigned shifts, especially during peak volume nights (sports, festivals, events).

    Serve as the on-duty point of contact for bar staff, guest concerns, and real-time problem solving.

    Ensure fast, accurate, and responsible alcohol service at all times.

    Oversee opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures with consistency and accountability.

    Maintain flow, pacing, and cleanliness of the bar during service.

    Team Leadership & Development

    Coach, motivate, and support Bartenders and Barbacks through hands-on leadership.

    Assist with onboarding, training, and performance development of bar staff.

    Lead by example with strong work ethic, professionalism, and positive energy.

    Foster a fun, inclusive, and respectful team culture.

    Guest Experience

    Engage with guests, especially regulars and high-energy crowds, to create a memorable and welcoming experience.

    Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally with a solutions-first mindset.

    Balance fun and control—maintaining safety, compliance, and hospitality simultaneously.

    Inventory, Compliance & Admin Support

    Assist with bar inventory, organization, and product handling.

    Support the GM with comps, voids, incident reports, and shift notes as needed.

    Ensure all responsible alcohol service, safety, and sanitation standards are followed.

    Communicate staffing needs, operational issues, and feedback clearly to management.

    Skills & Qualifications

    2+ years of experience in a high-volume bar leadership role (Bar Lead, Bar Manager, or equivalent).

    Strong bartending background with the ability to jump behind the bar when needed.

    Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-energy environments.

    Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and guest recovery skills.

    Calm, confident decision-maker under pressure.

    Must have (or obtain) a current Arizona Food Handler Card and Title 4 Liquor Certification.

    Ability to stand for long periods, lift 30+ lbs, and work late nights, weekends, and holidays.
