POSITION TITLE: Barback
DEPT/LOCATION: Front of House
REPORTING TO: Bar Manager
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time
Buck & Honeys Monona is looking for two part-time Barbacks to assist our fantastic Bartender team! The ideal candidate is available from 4:30-8:30, as we are looking to fill shifts every day of the week, Mon-Sun. Candidates must be 18 years or older.
JOB SUMMARY
Keeps all alcohol quantities stocked throughout shift.
Ensures the bartender has everything needed to keep everything running smoothly.
Cleans glasses and maintains levels of garnishes, liquor, beer and spirits, ice cubes, etc.
Represents and acts as an ambassador for the B&H brand.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleaning tasks
Cleaning-up the bar and table areas
Cleaning glasses, cutlery, and dishes
Running food and clearing plates
Taking out the trash and recycling throughout service
Cleaning spills and mopping behind the bar
Unclogging sinks
Stocking tasks
Keeping the bar fully stocked at all times
Juicing citrus
Preparing garnishes
Refilling ice wells
Replenishing the bar with glasses, toothpicks, napkins, coasters, ice cubes, etc.
Replenishing cleaning towels at each bartender station
Restocking liquor and beer bottles
Changing beer kegs
Opening and closing shift tasks
Restocking the bar for the following shift
Putting away shipments of liquor and beer
Breaking down and recycling boxes
Miscellaneous tasks
Helping the bartender with ad-hoc requests throughout service
Placing incoming orders through the point-of-sale system or notifying the bartender

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimal experience in a similar role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong communication, planning, organizing, problem-solving and time management skills.
Ability to work cooperatively as a team but can also work independently and proactively.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to hold oneself accountable for actions, successes, and failures.
Ability to be flexible in the work environment and adapt to changing organizational needs.
Maintain high-level of personal grooming, cleanliness, and appearance.
Ability to utilize restaurant software and applications.
Must be 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily active work, spending hours standing and walking, capable of lifting up to 25-50 lbs.
See at a distance (20 feet), at close range (12 inches), distinguish between shapes and utilize peripheral vision to avoid potential hazards.
Hear so that verbal communications can be received, understood, and acted upon.
Read, write, and perform addition/subtraction calculations.
Remember abbreviations and menu items.
Bend, handle, carry, lift, reach, wipe, climb and stoop.
Walk and stand for up to eight (8) hours.
Primary working position is standing and walking with occasional stooping, crouching and kneeling; frequent reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, typing, grasping, talking, speaking clearly, hearing and seeing.
Moderate to loud noise level consistent with a restaurant environment. Outside environmental factors during the summer season.
