    Job Description: User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Developer  

    Reports To:  Media Director

    Status:  Full Time Employee

    Job Summary

    The person holding this position is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all websites for Barber DME’s brands. The incumbent must be able to work closely with the marketing team and graphic designers to ensure seamless web/mobile design and the successful implementation of UI/UX best practices and principles across all Barber DME’s digital platforms. This position requires someone who can ensure that all elements of the company’s online user experiences are optimized for usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.

    Primary Relationships

    The position reports to the Media Director.

    Principle Accountabilities 

    UI/UX Developer:

    Responsibilities include the following:

    • Adheres to all company policies and procedures 
    • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials
    • Responsible for creating and implementing web sites that will enhance the company’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public
    • Consult with copywriting and marketing teams to create cohesive designs that reflect the company’s clients’ corporate cultures and goals
    • Illustrates concept by designing wireframe layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts
    • Produce high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes
    • Design UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets
    • Test UI elements such as CTAs, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages
    • Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyze and predict user behavior
    • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
    • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company’s social content
    • Adhere to style standards on typography and graphic design
    • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by following company policies
    • Maintains quality service by complying with organization standards
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
    • Research market trends and develop a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) plan for the organization
    • Research social media platforms that the organization can connect with to grow the organizations outreach within the marketplace and general public
    • Perform other duties as needed

     

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Website Design or equivalent experience in computer science, Marketing or related disciplines
    • A minimum of 2 years’ UI/UX design experience for digital products or services.
    • Must understand basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
    • Experience with Wordpress
    • Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, specifically with mockups, web design, and multimedia presentation
    • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
    • Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Sketch, Wireframe.cc, and InVision)
    • Must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills
    • Four plus years in professional commercial design, preferably with a marketing or creative agency
    • Must possess a comprehensive background in Web Design, Digital Marketing, and Social Media Management
    • Must be able to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and can work in a changing environment
    • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from management, peers, and clients
    • Fluency in English (Spanish a plus)

     Preferred qualifications: 

    • 1-4 years’ marketing experience
