Full Job Description

MJ Barber & Beauty Academy is looking for a motivated licensed Barber in the state of California to join our team in Hemet. Consider moving out from behind the chair and bringing your expertise to the classroom where you will share your passion and knowledge with our students. The ideal candidate has a passion for educating, motivating, mentoring, and coaching Future Barber Professionals. The primary responsibility of the instructor is to manage and lead their students to graduation through a positive classroom environment and passing State Board Exam.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform an active lesson and lecture, encourage student learning, participation, and engagement

Grade and review assignments, quizzes, & exams

Perform effective classroom management and ensure student compliance with school rules and regulations

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures

Passing grades on State Board/Licensure examinations and student licensure rates

Retention rates and student satisfaction

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance instructional methods.

Project a professional image at all times to internal and external guests.

Attend class meetings and professional development sessions.

Complete other assigned duties, as needed

Education and Experience

Minimum of three-year(s) California Barbering license

experienced in positive and effective communication, professional development skills, and teamwork

Strong customer service skills and administrative skills

Ability to ensure compliance with all State Board regulations

Possess a high level of personal integrity and passion for education

Be willing and able to quickly respond to emergency situations

Be able to often work independently, but within a regimented group

Strong organizational skills

Willing to work a flexible schedule
